6. Al-An'am Page 146وَ قَالُوْاAnd they sayهٰذِهٖۤTheseاَنْعَامٌcattleوَّ حَرْثٌand cropsحِجْرٌ ۖۗ(are) forbiddenلَّاno (one)یَطْعَمُهَاۤcan eat themاِلَّاexceptمَنْwhomنَّشَآءُwe willبِزَعْمِهِمْby their claimوَ اَنْعَامٌAnd cattleحُرِّمَتْforbiddenظُهُوْرُهَا(are) their backsوَ اَنْعَامٌand cattleلَّاnotیَذْكُرُوْنَthey mentionاسْمَ(the) nameاللّٰهِ(of) Allahعَلَیْهَاon itافْتِرَآءً(as) an inventionعَلَیْهِ ؕagainst HimسَیَجْزِیْهِمْHe will recompense themبِمَاfor whatكَانُوْاthey used toیَفْتَرُوْنَ invent
(6:138) And they say, "These animals and crops are forbidden; no one may eat from them except whom we will," by their claim. And there are those [camels] whose backs are forbidden [by them] and those upon which the name of Allah is not mentioned - [all of this] an invention of untruth about Him. He will punish them for what they were inventing.
وَ قَالُوْاAnd they sayمَاWhatفِیْ(is) inبُطُوْنِ(the) wombsهٰذِهِ(of) theseالْاَنْعَامِcattleخَالِصَةٌ(is) exclusivelyلِّذُكُوْرِنَاfor our malesوَ مُحَرَّمٌand forbiddenعَلٰۤیonاَزْوَاجِنَا ۚour spousesوَ اِنْBut ifیَّكُنْisمَّیْتَةً(born) deadفَهُمْthen they (all)فِیْهِin itشُرَكَآءُ ؕ(are) partnersسَیَجْزِیْهِمْHe will recompense themوَصْفَهُمْ ؕ(for) their attributionاِنَّهٗIndeed, Heحَكِیْمٌ(is) All-Wiseعَلِیْمٌ All-Knowing
(6:139) And they say, "What is in the bellies of these animals is exclusively for our males and forbidden to our females. But if it is [born] dead, then all of them have shares therein." He will punish them for their description. Indeed, He is Wise and Knowing.
قَدْCertainlyخَسِرَ(are) lostالَّذِیْنَthose whoقَتَلُوْۤاkilledاَوْلَادَهُمْtheir childrenسَفَهًۢا(in) foolishnessبِغَیْرِwithoutعِلْمٍknowledgeوَّ حَرَّمُوْاand forbidمَاwhatرَزَقَهُمُ(bas been) provided (to) themاللّٰهُ(by) Allahافْتِرَآءًinventing (lies)عَلَیagainstاللّٰهِ ؕAllahقَدْCertainlyضَلُّوْاthey have gone astrayوَ مَاand notكَانُوْاthey areمُهْتَدِیْنَ۠guided-ones
(6:140) Those will have lost who killed their children in foolishness without knowledge and prohibited what Allah had provided for them, inventing untruth about Allah. They have gone astray and were not [rightly] guided.
وَ هُوَAnd Heالَّذِیْۤ(is) the One Whoاَنْشَاَproducedجَنّٰتٍgardensمَّعْرُوْشٰتٍtrellisedوَّ غَیْرَand other thanمَعْرُوْشٰتٍtrellisedوَّ النَّخْلَand the date-palmوَ الزَّرْعَand the cropsمُخْتَلِفًاdiverseاُكُلُهٗ(are) its tasteوَ الزَّیْتُوْنَand the olivesوَ الرُّمَّانَand the pomegranatesمُتَشَابِهًاsimilarوَّ غَیْرَand other thanمُتَشَابِهٍ ؕsimilarكُلُوْاEatمِنْofثَمَرِهٖۤits fruitاِذَاۤwhenاَثْمَرَit bears fruitوَ اٰتُوْاand giveحَقَّهٗits dueیَوْمَ(on the) dayحَصَادِهٖ ۖؗ(of) its harvestوَ لَاAnd (do) notتُسْرِفُوْا ؕ(be) extravagantاِنَّهٗIndeed Heلَا(does) notیُحِبُّloveالْمُسْرِفِیْنَۙthe ones who are extravagant
(6:141) And He it is who causes gardens to grow, [both] trellised and untrellised, and palm trees and crops of different [kinds of] food and olives and pomegranates, similar and dissimilar. Eat of [each of] its fruit when it yields and give its due [zakah] on the day of its harvest. And be not excessive. Indeed, He does not like those who commit excess.
وَ مِنَAnd ofالْاَنْعَامِthe cattleحَمُوْلَةً(are some for) burdenوَّ فَرْشًا ؕand (some for) meatكُلُوْاEatمِمَّاof whatرَزَقَكُمُ(has been) provided (to) youاللّٰهُ(by) Allahوَ لَاand (do) notتَتَّبِعُوْاfollowخُطُوٰتِ(the) footstepsالشَّیْطٰنِ ؕ(of) ShaitaanاِنَّهٗIndeed, heلَكُمْ(is) to youعَدُوٌّan enemyمُّبِیْنٌۙopen
(6:142) And of the grazing livestock are carriers [of burdens] and those [too] small. Eat of what Allah has provided for you and do not follow the footsteps of Satan. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy.
6. Al-An'am Page 147ثَمٰنِیَةَEightاَزْوَاجٍ ۚpairsمِنَofالضَّاْنِthe sheepاثْنَیْنِtwoوَ مِنَand ofالْمَعْزِthe goatsاثْنَیْنِ ؕtwoقُلْSayءٰٓالذَّكَرَیْنِ(Are) the two malesحَرَّمَHe has forbiddenاَمِorالْاُنْثَیَیْنِthe two femalesاَمَّاor whatاشْتَمَلَتْcontainsعَلَیْهِ[in it]اَرْحَامُ(the) wombsالْاُنْثَیَیْنِ ؕ(of) the two femalesنَبِّـُٔوْنِیْInform meبِعِلْمٍwith knowledgeاِنْifكُنْتُمْyou areصٰدِقِیْنَۙtruthful
(6:143) [They are] eight mates - of the sheep, two and of the goats, two. Say, "Is it the two males He has forbidden or the two females or that which the wombs of the two females contain? Inform me with knowledge, if you should be truthful."
وَ مِنَAnd ofالْاِبِلِthe camelsاثْنَیْنِtwoوَ مِنَand ofالْبَقَرِthe cowsاثْنَیْنِ ؕtwoقُلْSayءٰٓالذَّكَرَیْنِ(Is it) the two malesحَرَّمَHe (has) forbiddenاَمِorالْاُنْثَیَیْنِthe two femalesاَمَّاor whatاشْتَمَلَتْcontainsعَلَیْهِ[in it]اَرْحَامُ(the) wombsالْاُنْثَیَیْنِ ؕ(of) the two femalesاَمْOrكُنْتُمْwere youشُهَدَآءَwitnessesاِذْwhenوَصّٰىكُمُenjoined youاللّٰهُAllahبِهٰذَا ۚwith thisفَمَنْThen whoاَظْلَمُ(is) more unjustمِمَّنِthan (one) whoافْتَرٰیinventsعَلَیagainstاللّٰهِAllahكَذِبًاa lieلِّیُضِلَّto misleadالنَّاسَthe peopleبِغَیْرِwithoutعِلْمٍ ؕknowledgeاِنَّIndeedاللّٰهَAllahلَا(does) notیَهْدِیguideالْقَوْمَthe peopleالظّٰلِمِیْنَ۠the wrongdoing
(6:144) And of the camels, two and of the cattle, two. Say, "Is it the two males He has forbidden or the two females or that which the wombs of the two females contain? Or were you witnesses when Allah charged you with this? Then who is more unjust than one who invents a lie about Allah to mislead the people by [something] other than knowledge? Indeed, Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people."
قُلْSayلَّاۤNotاَجِدُ(do) I findفِیْinمَاۤwhatاُوْحِیَhas been revealedاِلَیَّto meمُحَرَّمًا(anything) forbiddenعَلٰیtoطَاعِمٍan eaterیَّطْعَمُهٗۤwho eats itاِلَّاۤexceptاَنْthatیَّكُوْنَit beمَیْتَةًdeadاَوْorدَمًاbloodمَّسْفُوْحًاpoured forthاَوْorلَحْمَ(the) fleshخِنْزِیْرٍ(of) swineفَاِنَّهٗfor indeed, itرِجْسٌ(is) filthاَوْorفِسْقًا(it be) disobedienceاُهِلَّ[is] dedicatedلِغَیْرِto other thanاللّٰهِAllahبِهٖ ۚ[on it]فَمَنِBut whoeverاضْطُرَّ(is) compelledغَیْرَnotبَاغٍdesiringوَّ لَاand notعَادٍtransgressingفَاِنَّthen indeedرَبَّكَyour Lordغَفُوْرٌ(is) Oft-Forgivingرَّحِیْمٌ Most Merciful
(6:145) Say, "I do not find within that which was revealed to me [anything] forbidden to one who would eat it unless it be a dead animal or blood spilled out or the flesh of swine - for indeed, it is impure - or it be [that slaughtered in] disobedience, dedicated to other than Allah. But whoever is forced [by necessity], neither desiring [it] nor transgressing [its limit], then indeed, your Lord is Forgiving and Merciful."
وَ عَلَیAnd toالَّذِیْنَthose whoهَادُوْاare JewsحَرَّمْنَاWe forbadeكُلَّeveryذِیْ(animal) withظُفُرٍ ۚclawsوَ مِنَand ofالْبَقَرِthe cowsوَ الْغَنَمِand the sheepحَرَّمْنَاWe forbadeعَلَیْهِمْto themشُحُوْمَهُمَاۤtheir fatاِلَّاexceptمَاwhatحَمَلَتْcarriedظُهُوْرُهُمَاۤtheir backsاَوِorالْحَوَایَاۤthe entrailsاَوْorمَاwhatاخْتَلَطَ(is) joinedبِعَظْمٍ ؕwith the boneذٰلِكَThatجَزَیْنٰهُمْ(is) their recompenseبِبَغْیِهِمْ ۖؗfor their rebellionوَ اِنَّاAnd indeed, Weلَصٰدِقُوْنَ [surely] are truthful
(6:146) And to those who are Jews We prohibited every animal of uncloven hoof; and of the cattle and the sheep We prohibited to them their fat, except what adheres to their backs or the entrails or what is joined with bone. [By] that We repaid them for their injustice. And indeed, We are truthful.
6. Al-An'am Page 148فَاِنْBut ifكَذَّبُوْكَthey deny youفَقُلْthen sayرَّبُّكُمْYour Lordذُوْ(is the) Possessorرَحْمَةٍ(of) Mercyوَّاسِعَةٍ ۚVastوَ لَاbut notیُرَدُّwill be turned backبَاْسُهٗHis wrathعَنِfromالْقَوْمِthe peopleالْمُجْرِمِیْنَ (who are) criminals
(6:147) So if they deny you, [O Muhammad], say, "Your Lord is the possessor of vast mercy; but His punishment cannot be repelled from the people who are criminals."
سَیَقُوْلُWill sayالَّذِیْنَthose whoاَشْرَكُوْاassociate partners (with Allah)لَوْIfشَآءَHad willedاللّٰهُAllahمَاۤnotاَشْرَكْنَاwe (would) have associated partners (with Allah)وَ لَاۤand notاٰبَآؤُنَاour forefathersوَ لَاand notحَرَّمْنَاwe (would) have forbiddenمِنْ[of]شَیْءٍ ؕanythingكَذٰلِكَLikewiseكَذَّبَdeniedالَّذِیْنَthose whoمِنْ(were from)قَبْلِهِمْbefore themحَتّٰیuntilذَاقُوْاthey tastedبَاْسَنَا ؕOur wrathقُلْSayهَلْIsعِنْدَكُمْwith youمِّنْ[of]عِلْمٍany knowledgeفَتُخْرِجُوْهُthen produce itلَنَا ؕfor usاِنْNotتَتَّبِعُوْنَyou followاِلَّاexceptالظَّنَّthe assumptionوَ اِنْand notاَنْتُمْyou (do)اِلَّاbutتَخْرُصُوْنَ guess
(6:148) Those who associated with Allah will say, "If Allah had willed, we would not have associated [anything] and neither would our fathers, nor would we have prohibited anything." Likewise did those before deny until they tasted Our punishment. Say, "Do you have any knowledge that you can produce for us? You follow not except assumption, and you are not but falsifying."
قُلْSayفَلِلّٰهِWith Allahالْحُجَّةُ(is) the argumentالْبَالِغَةُ ۚthe conclusiveفَلَوْAnd ifشَآءَHe (had) willedلَهَدٰىكُمْsurely He (would) have guided youاَجْمَعِیْنَ all
(6:149) Say, "With Allah is the far-reaching argument. If He had willed, He would have guided you all."
قُلْSayهَلُمَّBring forwardشُهَدَآءَكُمُyour witnessesالَّذِیْنَthose whoیَشْهَدُوْنَtestifyاَنَّthatاللّٰهَAllahحَرَّمَprohibitedهٰذَا ۚthisفَاِنْThen ifشَهِدُوْاthey testifyفَلَاthen (do) notتَشْهَدْtestifyمَعَهُمْ ۚwith themوَ لَاAnd (do) notتَتَّبِعْfollowاَهْوَآءَ(the) desiresالَّذِیْنَ(of) those whoكَذَّبُوْاdeniedبِاٰیٰتِنَاOur Signsوَ الَّذِیْنَand those whoلَا(do) notیُؤْمِنُوْنَbelieveبِالْاٰخِرَةِin the Hereafterوَ هُمْwhile theyبِرَبِّهِمْwith their Lordیَعْدِلُوْنَ۠set up equals
(6:150) Say, [O Muhammad], "Bring forward your witnesses who will testify that Allah has prohibited this." And if they testify, do not testify with them. And do not follow the desires of those who deny Our verses and those who do not believe in the Hereafter, while they equate [others] with their Lord.
قُلْSayتَعَالَوْاComeاَتْلُI will reciteمَاwhatحَرَّمَhas prohibitedرَبُّكُمْyour Lordعَلَیْكُمْto youاَلَّاThat (do) notتُشْرِكُوْاassociateبِهٖwith Himشَیْـًٔاanythingوَّ بِالْوَالِدَیْنِand with the parentsاِحْسَانًا ۚ(be) goodوَ لَاand (do) notتَقْتُلُوْۤاkillاَوْلَادَكُمْyour childrenمِّنْ(out) ofاِمْلَاقٍ ؕpovertyنَحْنُWeنَرْزُقُكُمْprovide for youوَ اِیَّاهُمْ ۚand for themوَ لَاAnd (do) notتَقْرَبُواgo nearالْفَوَاحِشَ[the] immoralitiesمَاwhatظَهَرَ(is) apparentمِنْهَاof themوَ مَاand whatبَطَنَ ۚ(is) concealedوَ لَاAnd (do) notتَقْتُلُواkillالنَّفْسَthe soulالَّتِیْwhichحَرَّمَhas (been) forbiddenاللّٰهُ(by) Allahاِلَّاexceptبِالْحَقِّ ؕby (legal) rightذٰلِكُمْThatوَصّٰىكُمْ(He) has enjoined on youبِهٖwith itلَعَلَّكُمْso that you mayتَعْقِلُوْنَ use reason
(6:151) Say, "Come, I will recite what your Lord has prohibited to you. [He commands] that you not associate anything with Him, and to parents, good treatment, and do not kill your children out of poverty; We will provide for you and them. And do not approach immoralities - what is apparent of them and what is concealed. And do not kill the soul which Allah has forbidden [to be killed] except by [legal] right. This has He instructed you that you may use reason."
6. Al-An'am Page 149وَ لَاAnd (do) notتَقْرَبُوْاgo nearمَالَwealthالْیَتِیْمِ(of) the orphansاِلَّاexceptبِالَّتِیْwith thatهِیَwhichاَحْسَنُ(is) bestحَتّٰیuntilیَبْلُغَhe reachesاَشُدَّهٗ ۚhis maturityوَ اَوْفُواAnd give fullالْكَیْلَ[the] measureوَ الْمِیْزَانَand the weightبِالْقِسْطِ ۚwith justiceلَاNotنُكَلِّفُWe burdenنَفْسًاany soulاِلَّاexceptوُسْعَهَا ۚ(to) its capacityوَ اِذَاAnd whenقُلْتُمْyou speakفَاعْدِلُوْاthen be justوَ لَوْeven ifكَانَhe isذَا(one of)قُرْبٰی ۚa near relativeوَ بِعَهْدِAnd (the) Covenantاللّٰهِ(of) Allahاَوْفُوْا ؕfulfilذٰلِكُمْThatوَصّٰىكُمْ(He) has enjoined on youبِهٖwith itلَعَلَّكُمْso that you mayتَذَكَّرُوْنَۙremember
(6:152) And do not approach the orphan's property except in a way that is best until he reaches maturity. And give full measure and weight in justice. We do not charge any soul except [with that within] its capacity. And when you testify, be just, even if [it concerns] a near relative. And the covenant of Allah fulfill. This has He instructed you that you may remember.
وَ اَنَّAnd thatهٰذَاthisصِرَاطِیْ(is) My pathمُسْتَقِیْمًاstraightفَاتَّبِعُوْهُ ۚso follow itوَ لَاAnd (do) notتَتَّبِعُواfollowالسُّبُلَthe (other) pathsفَتَفَرَّقَthen they will separateبِكُمْyouعَنْfromسَبِیْلِهٖ ؕHis pathذٰلِكُمْThatوَصّٰىكُمْ(He) has enjoined on youبِهٖ[with it]لَعَلَّكُمْso that you mayتَتَّقُوْنَ become righteous
(6:153) And, [moreover], this is My path, which is straight, so follow it; and do not follow [other] ways, for you will be separated from His way. This has He instructed you that you may become righteous.
ثُمَّMoreoverاٰتَیْنَاWe gaveمُوْسَیMusaالْكِتٰبَthe Bookتَمَامًاcompleting (Our Favor)عَلَیonالَّذِیْۤthe one whoاَحْسَنَdid goodوَ تَفْصِیْلًاand an explanationلِّكُلِّof everyشَیْءٍthingوَّ هُدًیand a guidanceوَّ رَحْمَةًand mercyلَّعَلَّهُمْso that they mayبِلِقَآءِin (the) meetingرَبِّهِمْ(with) their Lordیُؤْمِنُوْنَ۠believe
(6:154) Then We gave Moses the Scripture, making complete [Our favor] upon the one who did good and as a detailed explanation of all things and as guidance and mercy that perhaps in [the matter of] the meeting with their Lord they would believe.
وَ هٰذَاAnd thisكِتٰبٌ(is) a BookاَنْزَلْنٰهُWe have revealed itمُبٰرَكٌblessedفَاتَّبِعُوْهُso follow itوَ اتَّقُوْاand fear (Allah)لَعَلَّكُمْso that you mayتُرْحَمُوْنَۙreceive mercy
(6:155) And this [Qur'an] is a Book We have revealed [which is] blessed, so follow it and fear Allah that you may receive mercy.
اَنْLestتَقُوْلُوْۤاyou sayاِنَّمَاۤOnlyاُنْزِلَwas revealedالْكِتٰبُthe Bookعَلٰیonطَآىِٕفَتَیْنِthe two groupsمِنْfromقَبْلِنَا ۪before usوَ اِنْand indeedكُنَّاwe wereعَنْaboutدِرَاسَتِهِمْtheir studyلَغٰفِلِیْنَۙcertainly unaware
(6:156) [We revealed it] lest you say, "The Scripture was only sent down to two groups before us, but we were of their study unaware,"
اَوْOrتَقُوْلُوْاyou sayلَوْIfاَنَّاۤ[that]اُنْزِلَwas revealedعَلَیْنَاto usالْكِتٰبُthe Bookلَكُنَّاۤsurely we (would) have beenاَهْدٰیbetter guidedمِنْهُمْ ۚthan themفَقَدْSo verilyجَآءَكُمْhas come to youبَیِّنَةٌclear proofsمِّنْfromرَّبِّكُمْyour Lordوَ هُدًیand a Guidanceوَّ رَحْمَةٌ ۚand a MercyفَمَنْThen whoاَظْلَمُ(is) more unjustمِمَّنْthan (he) whoكَذَّبَdeniesبِاٰیٰتِ[with] (the) Versesاللّٰهِ(of) Allahوَ صَدَفَand turns awayعَنْهَا ؕfrom themسَنَجْزِیWe will recompenseالَّذِیْنَthose whoیَصْدِفُوْنَturn awayعَنْfromاٰیٰتِنَاOur Signsسُوْٓءَ(with) an evilالْعَذَابِpunishmentبِمَاbecauseكَانُوْاthey used toیَصْدِفُوْنَ turn away
(6:157) Or lest you say, "If only the Scripture had been revealed to us, we would have been better guided than they." So there has [now] come to you a clear evidence from your Lord and a guidance and mercy. Then who is more unjust than one who denies the verses of Allah and turns away from them? We will recompense those who turn away from Our verses with the worst of punishment for their having turned away.
6. Al-An'am Page 150هَلْAreیَنْظُرُوْنَthey waitingاِلَّاۤexceptاَنْthatتَاْتِیَهُمُcomes to themالْمَلٰٓىِٕكَةُthe Angelsاَوْorیَاْتِیَcomesرَبُّكَyour Lordاَوْorیَاْتِیَcomesبَعْضُsome (of)اٰیٰتِ(the) Signsرَبِّكَ ؕ(of) your Lordیَوْمَ(The) Dayیَاْتِیْ(when) comesبَعْضُsome (of)اٰیٰتِ(the) Signsرَبِّكَ(of) your Lordلَاnotیَنْفَعُwill benefitنَفْسًاa soulاِیْمَانُهَاits faithلَمْnotتَكُنْ(if) it hadاٰمَنَتْbelievedمِنْfromقَبْلُbeforeاَوْorكَسَبَتْearnedفِیْۤthroughاِیْمَانِهَاits faithخَیْرًا ؕany goodقُلِSayانْتَظِرُوْۤاWaitاِنَّاIndeed, weمُنْتَظِرُوْنَ (are) those who wait
(6:158) Do they [then] wait for anything except that the angels should come to them or your Lord should come or that there come some of the signs of your Lord? The Day that some of the signs of your Lord will come no soul will benefit from its faith as long as it had not believed before or had earned through its faith some good. Say, "Wait. Indeed, we [also] are waiting."
اِنَّIndeedالَّذِیْنَthose whoفَرَّقُوْاdivideدِیْنَهُمْtheir religionوَ كَانُوْاand becomeشِیَعًاsectsلَّسْتَyou are notمِنْهُمْwith themفِیْinشَیْءٍ ؕanythingاِنَّمَاۤOnlyاَمْرُهُمْtheir affairاِلَی(is) withاللّٰهِAllahثُمَّthenیُنَبِّئُهُمْHe will inform themبِمَاof whatكَانُوْاthey used toیَفْعَلُوْنَ do
(6:159) Indeed, those who have divided their religion and become sects - you, [O Muhammad], are not [associated] with them in anything. Their affair is only [left] to Allah; then He will inform them about what they used to do.
مَنْWhoeverجَآءَcameبِالْحَسَنَةِwith a good deedفَلَهٗthen for himعَشْرُ(is) ten (times)اَمْثَالِهَا ۚthe like of itوَ مَنْAnd whoeverجَآءَcameبِالسَّیِّئَةِwith an evil deedفَلَاthen notیُجْزٰۤیhe will be recompensedاِلَّاexceptمِثْلَهَاthe like of itوَ هُمْand theyلَاwill notیُظْلَمُوْنَ (be) wronged
(6:160) Whoever comes [on the Day of Judgement] with a good deed will have ten times the like thereof [to his credit], and whoever comes with an evil deed will not be recompensed except the like thereof; and they will not be wronged.
قُلْSayاِنَّنِیْIndeed (as for) meهَدٰىنِیْhas guided meرَبِّیْۤmy Lordاِلٰیtoصِرَاطٍa pathمُّسْتَقِیْمٍ ۚ۬straightدِیْنًاa religionقِیَمًاrightمِّلَّةَreligionاِبْرٰهِیْمَ(of) Ibrahimحَنِیْفًا ۚa true monotheistوَ مَاAnd notكَانَhe wasمِنَfromالْمُشْرِكِیْنَ the polytheists
(6:161) Say, "Indeed, my Lord has guided me to a straight path - a correct religion - the way of Abraham, inclining toward truth. And he was not among those who associated others with Allah."
قُلْSayاِنَّIndeedصَلَاتِیْmy prayerوَ نُسُكِیْand my rites of sacrificeوَ مَحْیَایَand my livingوَ مَمَاتِیْand my dyingلِلّٰهِ(are) for AllahرَبِّLordالْعٰلَمِیْنَۙ(of) the worlds
(6:162) Say, "Indeed, my prayer, my rites of sacrifice, my living and my dying are for Allah, Lord of the worlds.
لَاNoشَرِیْكَpartnersلَهٗ ۚfor Himوَ بِذٰلِكَand with thatاُمِرْتُI have been commandedوَ اَنَاAnd I amاَوَّلُ(the) firstالْمُسْلِمِیْنَ (of) the ones who surrender (to Him)
(6:163) No partner has He. And this I have been commanded, and I am the first [among you] of the Muslims."
قُلْSayاَغَیْرَIs (it) other thanاللّٰهِAllahاَبْغِیْI (should) seekرَبًّا(as) a Lordوَّ هُوَwhile Heرَبُّ(is) the Lordكُلِّ(of) everyشَیْءٍ ؕthingوَ لَاAnd notتَكْسِبُearnsكُلُّeveryنَفْسٍsoulاِلَّاexceptعَلَیْهَا ۚagainst itselfوَ لَاand notتَزِرُbearsوَازِرَةٌany bearer of burdenوِّزْرَburdenاُخْرٰی ۚ(of) anotherثُمَّThenاِلٰیtoرَبِّكُمْyour Lordمَّرْجِعُكُمْ(is) your returnفَیُنَبِّئُكُمْthen He will inform youبِمَاabout whatكُنْتُمْyou wereفِیْهِconcerning itتَخْتَلِفُوْنَ differing
(6:164) Say, "Is it other than Allah I should desire as a lord while He is the Lord of all things? And every soul earns not [blame] except against itself, and no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another. Then to your Lord is your return, and He will inform you concerning that over which you used to differ."
وَ هُوَAnd Heالَّذِیْ(is) the One Whoجَعَلَكُمْ(has) made youخَلٰٓىِٕفَsuccessorsالْاَرْضِ(of) the earthوَ رَفَعَand raisedبَعْضَكُمْsome of youفَوْقَaboveبَعْضٍothersدَرَجٰتٍ(in) ranksلِّیَبْلُوَكُمْso that He may test youفِیْinمَاۤwhatاٰتٰىكُمْ ؕHe has given youاِنَّIndeedرَبَّكَyour Lordسَرِیْعُ(is) swiftالْعِقَابِ ۖؗ(in) the punishmentوَ اِنَّهٗand indeed He (is)لَغَفُوْرٌ[certainly] Oft-Forgivingرَّحِیْمٌ۠Most Merciful
(6:165) And it is He who has made you successors upon the earth and has raised some of you above others in degrees [of rank] that He may try you through what He has given you. Indeed, your Lord is swift in penalty; but indeed, He is Forgiving and Merciful.
7. Al-A'raf Page 1517. Al-A'rafبِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِالٓمّٓصٓۚAlif Laam Meem Saad
(7:1) Alif, Lam, Meem, Sad.
كِتٰبٌA Bookاُنْزِلَrevealedاِلَیْكَto youفَلَاso (let) notیَكُنْbeفِیْinصَدْرِكَyour breastحَرَجٌany uneasinessمِّنْهُfrom itلِتُنْذِرَthat you warnبِهٖwith itوَ ذِكْرٰیand a reminderلِلْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ for the believers
(7:2) [This is] a Book revealed to you, [O Muhammad] - so let there not be in your breast distress therefrom - that you may warn thereby and as a reminder to the believers.
اِتَّبِعُوْاFollowمَاۤwhatاُنْزِلَhas been revealedاِلَیْكُمْto youمِّنْfromرَّبِّكُمْyour Lordوَ لَاand (do) notتَتَّبِعُوْاfollowمِنْfromدُوْنِهٖۤbeside Himاَوْلِیَآءَ ؕany alliesقَلِیْلًاLittleمَّا(is) whatتَذَكَّرُوْنَ you remember
(7:3) Follow, [O mankind], what has been revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow other than Him any allies. Little do you remember.
وَ كَمْAnd how manyمِّنْofقَرْیَةٍa cityاَهْلَكْنٰهَاWe destroyed itفَجَآءَهَاand came to itبَاْسُنَاOur punishmentبَیَاتًا(at) nightاَوْorهُمْ(while) theyقَآىِٕلُوْنَ were sleeping at noon
(7:4) And how many cities have We destroyed, and Our punishment came to them at night or while they were sleeping at noon.
فَمَاThen notكَانَwasدَعْوٰىهُمْtheir pleaاِذْwhenجَآءَهُمْcame to themبَاْسُنَاۤOur punishmentاِلَّاۤexceptاَنْthatقَالُوْۤاthey saidاِنَّاIndeed weكُنَّاwereظٰلِمِیْنَ wrongdoers
(7:5) And their declaration when Our punishment came to them was only that they said, "Indeed, we were wrongdoers!"
فَلَنَسْـَٔلَنَّThen surely We will questionالَّذِیْنَthose (to) whomاُرْسِلَwere sentاِلَیْهِمْto them (Messengers)وَ لَنَسْـَٔلَنَّand surely We will questionالْمُرْسَلِیْنَۙthe Messengers
(7:6) Then We will surely question those to whom [a message] was sent, and We will surely question the messengers.
فَلَنَقُصَّنَّThen surely We will narrateعَلَیْهِمْto themبِعِلْمٍwith knowledgeوَّ مَاand notكُنَّاWe wereغَآىِٕبِیْنَ absent
(7:7) Then We will surely relate [their deeds] to them with knowledge, and We were not [at all] absent.
وَ الْوَزْنُAnd the weighingیَوْمَىِٕذِthat dayلْحَقُّ ۚ(will be) the truthفَمَنْSo whoseثَقُلَتْ(will be) heavyمَوَازِیْنُهٗhis scalesفَاُولٰٓىِٕكَthen thoseهُمُ[they]الْمُفْلِحُوْنَ (will be) the successful ones
(7:8) And the weighing [of deeds] that Day will be the truth. So those whose scales are heavy - it is they who will be the successful.
وَ مَنْAnd (for) thoseخَفَّتْ(will be) lightمَوَازِیْنُهٗhis scalesفَاُولٰٓىِٕكَso thoseالَّذِیْنَ(will be) the ones whoخَسِرُوْۤاlostاَنْفُسَهُمْthemselvesبِمَاbecauseكَانُوْاthey wereبِاٰیٰتِنَاto Our Versesیَظْلِمُوْنَ (doing) injustice
(7:9) And those whose scales are light - they are the ones who will lose themselves for what injustice they were doing toward Our verses.
وَ لَقَدْAnd certainlyمَكَّنّٰكُمْWe established youفِیinالْاَرْضِthe earthوَ جَعَلْنَاand We madeلَكُمْfor youفِیْهَاin itمَعَایِشَ ؕlivelihoodقَلِیْلًاLittleمَّا(is) whatتَشْكُرُوْنَ۠you (are) grateful
(7:10) And We have certainly established you upon the earth and made for you therein ways of livelihood. Little are you grateful.
وَ لَقَدْAnd certainlyخَلَقْنٰكُمْWe created youثُمَّthenصَوَّرْنٰكُمْWe fashioned youثُمَّThenقُلْنَاWe saidلِلْمَلٰٓىِٕكَةِto the AngelsاسْجُدُوْاProstrateلِاٰدَمَ ۖۗto AdamفَسَجَدُوْۤاSo they prostratedاِلَّاۤexceptاِبْلِیْسَ ؕIbleesلَمْNotیَكُنْhe wasمِّنَofالسّٰجِدِیْنَ those who prostrated
(7:11) And We have certainly created you, [O Mankind], and given you [human] form. Then We said to the angels, "Prostrate to Adam"; so they prostrated, except for Iblees. He was not of those who prostrated.
7. Al-A'raf Page 152قَالَ(Allah) saidمَاWhatمَنَعَكَprevented youاَلَّاthat notتَسْجُدَyou prostrateاِذْwhenاَمَرْتُكَ ؕI commanded youقَالَ(Shaitaan) saidاَنَاI amخَیْرٌbetterمِّنْهُ ۚthan himخَلَقْتَنِیْYou created meمِنْfromنَّارٍfireوَّ خَلَقْتَهٗand You created himمِنْfromطِیْنٍ clay
(7:12) [Allah] said, "What prevented you from prostrating when I commanded you?" [Satan] said, "I am better than him. You created me from fire and created him from clay."
قَالَ(Allah) saidفَاهْبِطْThen go downمِنْهَاfrom itفَمَاfor notیَكُوْنُit isلَكَfor youاَنْthatتَتَكَبَّرَyou be arrogantفِیْهَاin itفَاخْرُجْSo get outاِنَّكَindeed youمِنَ(are) ofالصّٰغِرِیْنَ the disgraced ones
(7:13) [Allah] said, "Descend from Paradise, for it is not for you to be arrogant therein. So get out; indeed, you are of the debased.
قَالَ(Shaitaan) saidاَنْظِرْنِیْۤGive me respiteاِلٰیtillیَوْمِ(the) Dayیُبْعَثُوْنَ they are raised up
(7:14) [Satan] said, "Reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected."
قَالَ(Allah) saidاِنَّكَIndeed youمِنَ(are) ofالْمُنْظَرِیْنَ the ones given respite
(7:15) [Allah] said, "Indeed, you are of those reprieved."
قَالَ(Shaitaan) saidفَبِمَاۤBecauseاَغْوَیْتَنِیْYou have sent me astrayلَاَقْعُدَنَّsurely I will sitلَهُمْfor themصِرَاطَكَ(on) Your pathالْمُسْتَقِیْمَۙthe straight
(7:16) [Satan] said, "Because You have put me in error, I will surely sit in wait for them on Your straight path.
ثُمَّThenلَاٰتِیَنَّهُمْsurely, I will come to themمِّنْۢfromبَیْنِbeforeاَیْدِیْهِمْthemوَ مِنْand fromخَلْفِهِمْbehind themوَ عَنْand fromاَیْمَانِهِمْtheir rightوَ عَنْand fromشَمَآىِٕلِهِمْ ؕtheir leftوَ لَاand notتَجِدُYou (will) findاَكْثَرَهُمْmost of themشٰكِرِیْنَ grateful
(7:17) Then I will come to them from before them and from behind them and on their right and on their left, and You will not find most of them grateful [to You]."
قَالَ(Allah) saidاخْرُجْGet outمِنْهَاof itمَذْءُوْمًاdisgracedمَّدْحُوْرًا ؕand expelledلَمَنْCertainly whoeverتَبِعَكَfollows youمِنْهُمْamong themلَاَمْلَـَٔنَّsurely I will fillجَهَنَّمَHellمِنْكُمْwith youاَجْمَعِیْنَ all
(7:18) [Allah] said, "Get out of Paradise, reproached and expelled. Whoever follows you among them - I will surely fill Hell with you, all together."
وَ یٰۤاٰدَمُAnd O Adam!اسْكُنْDwellاَنْتَyouوَ زَوْجُكَand your wifeالْجَنَّةَ(in) the Gardenفَكُلَاand you both eatمِنْfromحَیْثُwhereverشِئْتُمَاyou both wishوَ لَاbut (do) notتَقْرَبَاapproach [you both]هٰذِهِthisالشَّجَرَةَ[the] treeفَتَكُوْنَاlest you both beمِنَamongالظّٰلِمِیْنَ the wrongdoers
(7:19) And "O Adam, dwell, you and your wife, in Paradise and eat from wherever you will but do not approach this tree, lest you be among the wrongdoers."
فَوَسْوَسَThen whisperedلَهُمَاto both of themالشَّیْطٰنُthe Shaitaanلِیُبْدِیَto make apparentلَهُمَاto both of themمَاwhatوٗرِیَwas concealedعَنْهُمَاfrom both of themمِنْofسَوْاٰتِهِمَاtheir shameوَ قَالَAnd he saidمَا(Did) notنَهٰىكُمَاforbid you bothرَبُّكُمَاyour Lordعَنْfromهٰذِهِthisالشَّجَرَةِ[the] treeاِلَّاۤexceptاَنْthatتَكُوْنَاyou two becomeمَلَكَیْنِAngelsاَوْorتَكُوْنَاyou two becomeمِنَofالْخٰلِدِیْنَ the immortals
(7:20) But Satan whispered to them to make apparent to them that which was concealed from them of their private parts. He said, "Your Lord did not forbid you this tree except that you become angels or become of the immortal."
وَ قَاسَمَهُمَاۤAnd he swore (to) both of themاِنِّیْIndeed I amلَكُمَاto both of youلَمِنَamongالنّٰصِحِیْنَۙthe sincere advisers
(7:21) And he swore [by Allah] to them, "Indeed, I am to you from among the sincere advisors."
فَدَلّٰىهُمَاSo he made both of them fallبِغُرُوْرٍ ۚby deceptionفَلَمَّاThen whenذَاقَاthey both tastedالشَّجَرَةَthe treeبَدَتْbecame apparentلَهُمَاto both of themسَوْاٰتُهُمَاtheir shameوَ طَفِقَاand they beganیَخْصِفٰنِ(to) fastenعَلَیْهِمَاover themselvesمِنْfromوَّرَقِ(the) leavesالْجَنَّةِ ؕ(of) the Gardenوَ نَادٰىهُمَاAnd called them bothرَبُّهُمَاۤtheir LordاَلَمْDid notاَنْهَكُمَاI forbid you bothعَنْfromتِلْكُمَاthisالشَّجَرَةِ[the] treeوَ اَقُلْand [I] sayلَّكُمَاۤto both of youاِنَّthatالشَّیْطٰنَ[the] Shaitaanلَكُمَاto both of youعَدُوٌّ(is) an enemyمُّبِیْنٌ open
(7:22) So he made them fall, through deception. And when they tasted of the tree, their private parts became apparent to them, and they began to fasten together over themselves from the leaves of Paradise. And their Lord called to them, "Did I not forbid you from that tree and tell you that Satan is to you a clear enemy?"
7. Al-A'raf Page 153قَالَاBoth of them saidرَبَّنَاOur Lordظَلَمْنَاۤwe have wrongedاَنْفُسَنَا ٚourselvesوَ اِنْand ifلَّمْnotتَغْفِرْYou forgiveلَنَا[for] usوَ تَرْحَمْنَاand have mercy (on) usلَنَكُوْنَنَّsurely we will beمِنَamongالْخٰسِرِیْنَ the losers
(7:23) They said, "Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers."
قَالَ(Allah) saidاهْبِطُوْاGet downبَعْضُكُمْsome of youلِبَعْضٍto some othersعَدُوٌّ ۚ(as) enemyوَ لَكُمْAnd for youفِیinالْاَرْضِthe earthمُسْتَقَرٌّ(is) a dwelling placeوَّ مَتَاعٌand livelihoodاِلٰیforحِیْنٍ a time
(7:24) [Allah] said, "Descend, being to one another enemies. And for you on the earth is a place of settlement and enjoyment for a time."
قَالَHe saidفِیْهَاIn itتَحْیَوْنَyou will liveوَ فِیْهَاand in itتَمُوْتُوْنَyou will dieوَ مِنْهَاand from itتُخْرَجُوْنَ۠you will be brought forth
(7:25) He said, "Therein you will live, and therein you will die, and from it you will be brought forth."
یٰبَنِیْۤO Childrenاٰدَمَ(of) AdamقَدْVerilyاَنْزَلْنَاWe have sent downعَلَیْكُمْto youلِبَاسًاclothingیُّوَارِیْit coversسَوْاٰتِكُمْyour shameوَ رِیْشًا ؕand (as) an adornmentوَ لِبَاسُBut the clothingالتَّقْوٰی ۙ(of) [the] righteousnessذٰلِكَthatخَیْرٌ ؕ(is) bestذٰلِكَThatمِنْ(is) fromاٰیٰتِ(the) Signsاللّٰهِ(of) Allahلَعَلَّهُمْso that they mayیَذَّكَّرُوْنَ remember
(7:26) O children of Adam, We have bestowed upon you clothing to conceal your private parts and as adornment. But the clothing of righteousness - that is best. That is from the signs of Allah that perhaps they will remember.
یٰبَنِیْۤO Childrenاٰدَمَ(of) Adam!لَا(Let) notیَفْتِنَنَّكُمُtempt youالشَّیْطٰنُ[the] Shaitaanكَمَاۤasاَخْرَجَhe drove outاَبَوَیْكُمْyour parentsمِّنَfromالْجَنَّةِParadiseیَنْزِعُstrippingعَنْهُمَاfrom both of themلِبَاسَهُمَاtheir clothingلِیُرِیَهُمَاto show both of themسَوْاٰتِهِمَا ؕtheir shameاِنَّهٗIndeed heیَرٰىكُمْsees youهُوَheوَ قَبِیْلُهٗand his tribeمِنْfromحَیْثُwhereلَاnotتَرَوْنَهُمْ ؕyou see themاِنَّاIndeedجَعَلْنَاWe have madeالشَّیٰطِیْنَthe devilsاَوْلِیَآءَfriendsلِلَّذِیْنَof those whoلَا(do) notیُؤْمِنُوْنَ believe
(7:27) O children of Adam, let not Satan tempt you as he removed your parents from Paradise, stripping them of their clothing to show them their private parts. Indeed, he sees you, he and his tribe, from where you do not see them. Indeed, We have made the devils allies to those who do not believe.
وَ اِذَاAnd whenفَعَلُوْاthey doفَاحِشَةًimmoralityقَالُوْاthey sayوَجَدْنَاWe foundعَلَیْهَاۤon itاٰبَآءَنَاour forefathersوَ اللّٰهُand Allahاَمَرَنَا(has) ordered usبِهَا ؕof itقُلْSayاِنَّIndeedاللّٰهَAllahلَا(does) notیَاْمُرُorderبِالْفَحْشَآءِ ؕimmoralityاَتَقُوْلُوْنَDo you sayعَلَیaboutاللّٰهِAllahمَاwhatلَاnotتَعْلَمُوْنَ you know
(7:28) And when they commit an immorality, they say, "We found our fathers doing it, and Allah has ordered us to do it." Say, "Indeed, Allah does not order immorality. Do you say about Allah that which you do not know?"
قُلْSayاَمَرَ(Has been) orderedرَبِّیْ(by) my Lordبِالْقِسْطِ ۫justiceوَ اَقِیْمُوْاand setوُجُوْهَكُمْyour facesعِنْدَatكُلِّeveryمَسْجِدٍmasjidوَّ ادْعُوْهُand invoke Himمُخْلِصِیْنَ(being) sincereلَهُto Himالدِّیْنَ ؕ۬(in) the religionكَمَاAsبَدَاَكُمْHe originated youتَعُوْدُوْنَؕ(so) will you return
(7:29) Say, [O Muhammad], "My Lord has ordered justice and that you maintain yourselves [in worship of Him] at every place [or time] of prostration, and invoke Him, sincere to Him in religion." Just as He originated you, you will return [to life] -
فَرِیْقًاA groupهَدٰیHe guidedوَ فَرِیْقًاand a groupحَقَّdeservedعَلَیْهِمُ[on] theyالضَّلٰلَةُ ؕthe astrayingاِنَّهُمُIndeed, theyاتَّخَذُواtakeالشَّیٰطِیْنَthe devilsاَوْلِیَآءَ(as) alliesمِنْfromدُوْنِbesidesاللّٰهِAllahوَ یَحْسَبُوْنَwhile they thinkاَنَّهُمْthat theyمُّهْتَدُوْنَ (are the) guided-ones
(7:30) A group [of you] He guided, and a group deserved [to be in] error. Indeed, they had taken the devils as allies instead of Allah while they thought that they were guided.
7. Al-A'raf Page 154یٰبَنِیْۤO Childrenاٰدَمَ(of) Adam!خُذُوْاTakeزِیْنَتَكُمْyour adornmentعِنْدَatكُلِّeveryمَسْجِدٍmasjidوَّ كُلُوْاand eatوَ اشْرَبُوْاand drinkوَ لَاbut (do) notتُسْرِفُوْا ۚbe extravagantاِنَّهٗIndeed Heلَا(does) notیُحِبُّloveالْمُسْرِفِیْنَ۠the extravagant ones
(7:31) O children of Adam, take your adornment at every masjid, and eat and drink, but be not excessive. Indeed, He likes not those who commit excess.
قُلْSayمَنْWhoحَرَّمَhas forbiddenزِیْنَةَ(the) adornmentاللّٰهِ(from) AllahالَّتِیْۤwhichاَخْرَجَHe has brought forthلِعِبَادِهٖfor His slavesوَ الطَّیِّبٰتِand the pure thingsمِنَofالرِّزْقِ ؕsustenanceقُلْSayهِیَTheyلِلَّذِیْنَ(are) for those whoاٰمَنُوْاbelieveفِیduringالْحَیٰوةِthe lifeالدُّنْیَا(of) the worldخَالِصَةًexclusively (for them)یَّوْمَ(on the) Dayالْقِیٰمَةِ ؕ(of) ResurrectionكَذٰلِكَThusنُفَصِّلُWe explainالْاٰیٰتِthe Signsلِقَوْمٍfor (the) peopleیَّعْلَمُوْنَ who know
(7:32) Say, "Who has forbidden the adornment of Allah which He has produced for His servants and the good [lawful] things of provision?" Say, "They are for those who believe during the worldly life [but] exclusively for them on the Day of Resurrection." Thus do We detail the verses for a people who know.
قُلْSayاِنَّمَاOnlyحَرَّمَ(had) forbiddenرَبِّیَmy Lordالْفَوَاحِشَthe shameful deedsمَاwhatظَهَرَ(is) apparentمِنْهَاof itوَ مَاand whatبَطَنَis concealedوَ الْاِثْمَand the sinوَ الْبَغْیَand the oppressionبِغَیْرِwithoutالْحَقِّ[the] rightوَ اَنْand thatتُشْرِكُوْاyou associate (others)بِاللّٰهِwith AllahمَاwhatلَمْnotیُنَزِّلْHe (has) sent downبِهٖof itسُلْطٰنًاany authorityوَّ اَنْand thatتَقُوْلُوْاyou sayعَلَیaboutاللّٰهِAllahمَاwhatلَاnotتَعْلَمُوْنَ you know
(7:33) Say, "My Lord has only forbidden immoralities - what is apparent of them and what is concealed - and sin, and oppression without right, and that you associate with Allah that for which He has not sent down authority, and that you say about Allah that which you do not know."
وَ لِكُلِّAnd for everyاُمَّةٍnationاَجَلٌ ۚ(is a fixed) termفَاِذَاSo whenجَآءَcomesاَجَلُهُمْtheir termلَا(they can) notیَسْتَاْخِرُوْنَseek to delayسَاعَةًan hourوَّ لَاand notیَسْتَقْدِمُوْنَ seek to advance (it)
(7:34) And for every nation is a [specified] term. So when their time has come, they will not remain behind an hour, nor will they precede [it].
یٰبَنِیْۤO Childrenاٰدَمَ(of) Adam!اِمَّاIfیَاْتِیَنَّكُمْcomes to youرُسُلٌMessengersمِّنْكُمْfrom youیَقُصُّوْنَrelatingعَلَیْكُمْto youاٰیٰتِیْ ۙMy Versesفَمَنِthen whoeverاتَّقٰیfears Allahوَ اَصْلَحَand reformsفَلَاthen noخَوْفٌfearعَلَیْهِمْon themوَ لَاand notهُمْtheyیَحْزَنُوْنَ will grieve
(7:35) O children of Adam, if there come to you messengers from among you relating to you My verses, then whoever fears Allah and reforms - there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve.
وَ الَّذِیْنَBut those whoكَذَّبُوْاdenyبِاٰیٰتِنَاOur Versesوَ اسْتَكْبَرُوْاand (are) arrogantعَنْهَاۤtowards themاُولٰٓىِٕكَthoseاَصْحٰبُ(are the) companionsالنَّارِ ۚ(of) the Fireهُمْtheyفِیْهَاin itخٰلِدُوْنَ will abide forever
(7:36) But the ones who deny Our verses and are arrogant toward them - those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally.
فَمَنْThen whoاَظْلَمُ(is) more unjustمِمَّنِthan (one) whoافْتَرٰیinventedعَلَیagainstاللّٰهِAllahكَذِبًاa lieاَوْorكَذَّبَdeniesبِاٰیٰتِهٖ ؕHis VersesاُولٰٓىِٕكَThoseیَنَالُهُمْwill reach themنَصِیْبُهُمْtheir portionمِّنَfromالْكِتٰبِ ؕthe Bookحَتّٰۤیuntilاِذَاwhenجَآءَتْهُمْcomes to themرُسُلُنَاOur messengers (Angels)یَتَوَفَّوْنَهُمْ ۙ(to) take them in deathقَالُوْۤاthey sayاَیْنَWhere areمَاthose (whom)كُنْتُمْyou used toتَدْعُوْنَinvokeمِنْfromدُوْنِbesidesاللّٰهِ ؕAllahقَالُوْاThey sayضَلُّوْاThey strayedعَنَّاfrom usوَ شَهِدُوْاand they (will) testifyعَلٰۤیagainstاَنْفُسِهِمْthemselvesاَنَّهُمْthat theyكَانُوْاwereكٰفِرِیْنَ disbelievers
(7:37) And who is more unjust than one who invents about Allah a lie or denies His verses? Those will attain their portion of the decree until when Our messengers come to them to take them in death, they will say, "Where are those you used to invoke besides Allah?" They will say, "They have departed from us," and will bear witness against themselves that they were disbelievers.
7. Al-A'raf Page 155قَالَHe (will) sayادْخُلُوْاEnterفِیْۤamongاُمَمٍ(the) nationsقَدْ(who)خَلَتْpassed awayمِنْfromقَبْلِكُمْbefore youمِّنَofالْجِنِّthe jinnوَ الْاِنْسِand the menفِیinالنَّارِ ؕthe FireكُلَّمَاEvery timeدَخَلَتْenteredاُمَّةٌa nationلَّعَنَتْit cursedاُخْتَهَا ؕits sister (nation)حَتّٰۤیuntilاِذَاwhenادَّارَكُوْاthey had overtaken one anotherفِیْهَاin itجَمِیْعًا ۙallقَالَتْ(will) sayاُخْرٰىهُمْ(the) last of themلِاُوْلٰىهُمْabout the first of themرَبَّنَاOur Lordهٰۤؤُلَآءِtheseاَضَلُّوْنَاmisled usفَاٰتِهِمْso give themعَذَابًاpunishmentضِعْفًاdoubleمِّنَofالنَّارِ ؕ۬the FireقَالَHe (will) sayلِكُلٍّFor eachضِعْفٌ(is) a doubleوَّ لٰكِنْ[and] butلَّاnotتَعْلَمُوْنَ you know
(7:38) [Allah] will say, "Enter among nations which had passed on before you of jinn and mankind into the Fire." Every time a nation enters, it will curse its sister until, when they have all overtaken one another therein, the last of them will say about the first of them "Our Lord, these had misled us, so give them a double punishment of the Fire. He will say, "For each is double, but you do not know."
وَ قَالَتْAnd (will) sayاُوْلٰىهُمْ(the) first of themلِاُخْرٰىهُمْto (the) last of themفَمَاThen notكَانَisلَكُمْfor youعَلَیْنَاupon usمِنْanyفَضْلٍsuperiorityفَذُوْقُواso tasteالْعَذَابَthe punishmentبِمَاfor whatكُنْتُمْyou used toتَكْسِبُوْنَ۠earn
(7:39) And the first of them will say to the last of them, "Then you had not any favor over us, so taste the punishment for what you used to earn."
اِنَّIndeedالَّذِیْنَthose whoكَذَّبُوْاdeniedبِاٰیٰتِنَاOur Versesوَ اسْتَكْبَرُوْاand (were) arrogantعَنْهَاtowards themلَا(will) notتُفَتَّحُbe openedلَهُمْfor themاَبْوَابُ(the) doorsالسَّمَآءِ(of) the heavenوَ لَاand notیَدْخُلُوْنَthey will enterالْجَنَّةَParadiseحَتّٰیuntilیَلِجَpassesالْجَمَلُthe camelفِیْthroughسَمِّ(the) eyeالْخِیَاطِ ؕ(of) the needleوَ كَذٰلِكَAnd thusنَجْزِیWe recompenseالْمُجْرِمِیْنَ the criminals
(7:40) Indeed, those who deny Our verses and are arrogant toward them - the gates of Heaven will not be opened for them, nor will they enter Paradise until a camel enters into the eye of a needle. And thus do We recompense the criminals.
لَهُمْFor themمِّنْofجَهَنَّمَ(the) Hellمِهَادٌ(is) a bedوَّ مِنْand fromفَوْقِهِمْover themغَوَاشٍ ؕcoveringsوَ كَذٰلِكَAnd thusنَجْزِیWe recompenseالظّٰلِمِیْنَ the wrongdoers
(7:41) They will have from Hell a bed and over them coverings [of fire]. And thus do We recompense the wrongdoers.
وَ الَّذِیْنَBut those whoاٰمَنُوْاbelieveوَ عَمِلُواand doالصّٰلِحٰتِ[the] righteous deedsلَاnotنُكَلِّفُWe burdenنَفْسًاany soulاِلَّاexceptوُسْعَهَاۤ ؗ(to) its capacityاُولٰٓىِٕكَThoseاَصْحٰبُ(are the) companionsالْجَنَّةِ ۚ(of) Paradiseهُمْtheyفِیْهَاin itخٰلِدُوْنَ (will) abide forever
(7:42) But those who believed and did righteous deeds - We charge no soul except [within] its capacity. Those are the companions of Paradise; they will abide therein eternally.
وَ نَزَعْنَاAnd We will removeمَاwhateverفِیْ(is) inصُدُوْرِهِمْtheir breastsمِّنْofغِلٍّmaliceتَجْرِیْFlowsمِنْfromتَحْتِهِمُunderneath themالْاَنْهٰرُ ۚthe riversوَ قَالُواAnd they will sayالْحَمْدُAll the praiseلِلّٰهِ(is) for Allahالَّذِیْthe One Whoهَدٰىنَاguided usلِهٰذَا ۫to thisوَ مَاand notكُنَّاwe wereلِنَهْتَدِیَto receive guidanceلَوْ لَاۤif notاَنْ[that]هَدٰىنَا(had) guided usاللّٰهُ ۚAllahلَقَدْCertainlyجَآءَتْcameرُسُلُMessengersرَبِّنَا(of) our Lordبِالْحَقِّ ؕwith the truthوَ نُوْدُوْۤاAnd they will be addressedاَنْ[that]تِلْكُمُThisالْجَنَّةُ(is) Paradiseاُوْرِثْتُمُوْهَاyou have been made to inherit itبِمَاfor whatكُنْتُمْyou used toتَعْمَلُوْنَ do
(7:43) And We will have removed whatever is within their breasts of resentment, [while] flowing beneath them are rivers. And they will say, "Praise to Allah, who has guided us to this; and we would never have been guided if Allah had not guided us. Certainly the messengers of our Lord had come with the truth." And they will be called, "This is Paradise, which you have been made to inherit for what you used to do."
7. Al-A'raf Page 156وَ نَادٰۤیAnd will call outاَصْحٰبُ(the) companionsالْجَنَّةِ(of) Paradiseاَصْحٰبَ(to the) companionsالنَّارِ(of) the FireاَنْthatقَدْIndeedوَجَدْنَاwe foundمَاwhatوَعَدَنَا(had) promised usرَبُّنَاour LordحَقًّاtrueفَهَلْSo haveوَجَدْتُّمْyou foundمَّاwhatوَعَدَ(was) promisedرَبُّكُمْ(by) your Lordحَقًّا ؕ(to be) trueقَالُوْاThey will sayنَعَمْ ۚYesفَاَذَّنَThen will announceمُؤَذِّنٌۢan announcerبَیْنَهُمْamong themاَنْ[that]لَّعْنَةُ(The) curseاللّٰهِ(of) Allahعَلَی(is) onالظّٰلِمِیْنَۙthe wrongdoers
(7:44) And the companions of Paradise will call out to the companions of the Fire, "We have already found what our Lord promised us to be true. Have you found what your Lord promised to be true?" They will say, "Yes." Then an announcer will announce among them, "The curse of Allah shall be upon the wrongdoers."
الَّذِیْنَThose whoیَصُدُّوْنَhinderعَنْfromسَبِیْلِ(the) wayاللّٰهِ(of) Allahوَ یَبْغُوْنَهَاand seek in itعِوَجًا ۚcrookednessوَ هُمْwhile they (are)بِالْاٰخِرَةِconcerning the Hereafterكٰفِرُوْنَۘdisbelievers
(7:45) Who averted [people] from the way of Allah and sought to make it [seem] deviant while they were, concerning the Hereafter, disbelievers.
وَ بَیْنَهُمَاAnd between themحِجَابٌ ۚ(will be) a partitionوَ عَلَیand onالْاَعْرَافِthe heightsرِجَالٌ(will be) menیَّعْرِفُوْنَrecognizingكُلًّۢاallبِسِیْمٰىهُمْ ۚby their marksوَ نَادَوْاAnd they will call outاَصْحٰبَ(to the) companionsالْجَنَّةِ(of) ParadiseاَنْthatسَلٰمٌPeaceعَلَیْكُمْ ۫(be) upon youلَمْNotیَدْخُلُوْهَاthey have entered itوَ هُمْbut theyیَطْمَعُوْنَ hope
(7:46) And between them will be a partition, and on [its] elevations are men who recognize all by their mark. And they call out to the companions of Paradise, "Peace be upon you." They have not [yet] entered it, but they long intensely.
وَ اِذَاAnd whenصُرِفَتْare turnedاَبْصَارُهُمْtheir eyesتِلْقَآءَtowardsاَصْحٰبِ(the) companionsالنَّارِ ۙ(of) the Fireقَالُوْاthey (will) sayرَبَّنَاOur Lord!لَا(Do) notتَجْعَلْنَاplace usمَعَwithالْقَوْمِthe peopleالظّٰلِمِیْنَ۠the wrongdoers
(7:47) And when their eyes are turned toward the companions of the Fire, they say, "Our Lord, do not place us with the wrongdoing people."
وَ نَادٰۤیAnd (will) call outاَصْحٰبُ(the) companionsالْاَعْرَافِ(of) the heightsرِجَالًا(to) menیَّعْرِفُوْنَهُمْwhom they recognizeبِسِیْمٰىهُمْby their marksقَالُوْاsayingمَاۤNotاَغْنٰی(has) availedعَنْكُمْ[to] youجَمْعُكُمْyour gatheringوَ مَاand whatكُنْتُمْyou wereتَسْتَكْبِرُوْنَ arrogant (about)
(7:48) And the companions of the Elevations will call to men [within Hell] whom they recognize by their mark, saying, "Of no avail to you was your gathering and [the fact] that you were arrogant."
اَهٰۤؤُلَآءِAre theseالَّذِیْنَthe ones whomاَقْسَمْتُمْyou had swornلَا(that) notیَنَالُهُمُ(will) grant themاللّٰهُAllahبِرَحْمَةٍ ؕMercyاُدْخُلُواEnterالْجَنَّةَParadiseلَا(There will be) noخَوْفٌfearعَلَیْكُمْupon youوَ لَاۤand notاَنْتُمْyouتَحْزَنُوْنَ will grieve
(7:49) [Allah will say], "Are these the ones whom you [inhabitants of Hell] swore that Allah would never offer them mercy? Enter Paradise, [O People of the Elevations]. No fear will there be concerning you, nor will you grieve."
وَ نَادٰۤیAnd (will) call outاَصْحٰبُ(the) companionsالنَّارِ(of) the Fireاَصْحٰبَ(to the) companionsالْجَنَّةِ(of) Paradiseاَنْ[that]اَفِیْضُوْاPourعَلَیْنَاupon usمِنَ[of]الْمَآءِ(some) waterاَوْorمِمَّاof whatرَزَقَكُمُ(has been) provided (to) youاللّٰهُ ؕ(by) AllahقَالُوْۤاThey (will) sayاِنَّIndeedاللّٰهَAllahحَرَّمَهُمَاhas forbidden bothعَلَیtoالْكٰفِرِیْنَۙthe disbelievers
(7:50) And the companions of the Fire will call to the companions of Paradise, "Pour upon us some water or from whatever Allah has provided you." They will say, "Indeed, Allah has forbidden them both to the disbelievers."
الَّذِیْنَThose whoاتَّخَذُوْاtookدِیْنَهُمْtheir religionلَهْوًا(as) an amusementوَّ لَعِبًاand playوَّ غَرَّتْهُمُand deluded themالْحَیٰوةُthe lifeالدُّنْیَا ۚ(of) the worldفَالْیَوْمَSo todayنَنْسٰىهُمْWe forget themكَمَاasنَسُوْاthey forgotلِقَآءَ(the) meetingیَوْمِهِمْ(of) their dayهٰذَا ۙthisوَ مَاand [what]كَانُوْا(as) they used toبِاٰیٰتِنَاwith Our Versesیَجْحَدُوْنَ they reject
(7:51) Who took their religion as distraction and amusement and whom the worldly life deluded." So today We will forget them just as they forgot the meeting of this Day of theirs and for having rejected Our verses.
7. Al-A'raf Page 157وَ لَقَدْAnd certainlyجِئْنٰهُمْWe had brought (to) themبِكِتٰبٍa Bookفَصَّلْنٰهُwhich We have explainedعَلٰیwithعِلْمٍknowledgeهُدًیa guidanceوَّ رَحْمَةًand mercyلِّقَوْمٍfor a peopleیُّؤْمِنُوْنَ who believe
(7:52) And We had certainly brought them a Book which We detailed by knowledge - as guidance and mercy to a people who believe.
هَلْDoیَنْظُرُوْنَthey waitاِلَّاexceptتَاْوِیْلَهٗ ؕ(for) its fulfillmentیَوْمَ(The) Dayیَاْتِیْ(will) comeتَاْوِیْلُهٗits fulfillmentیَقُوْلُwill sayالَّذِیْنَthose whoنَسُوْهُhad forgotten itمِنْfromقَبْلُbeforeقَدْVerilyجَآءَتْhad comeرُسُلُ(the) Messengersرَبِّنَا(of) our Lordبِالْحَقِّ ۚwith the truthفَهَلْso are (there)لَّنَاfor usمِنْanyشُفَعَآءَintercessorsفَیَشْفَعُوْاso (that) they intercedeلَنَاۤfor usاَوْorنُرَدُّwe are sent backفَنَعْمَلَso (that) we do (deeds)غَیْرَother thanالَّذِیْthat whichكُنَّاwe used toنَعْمَلُ ؕdoقَدْVerilyخَسِرُوْۤاthey lostاَنْفُسَهُمْthemselvesوَ ضَلَّand strayedعَنْهُمْfrom themمَّاwhatكَانُوْاthey used toیَفْتَرُوْنَ۠invent
(7:53) Do they await except its result? The Day its result comes those who had ignored it before will say, "The messengers of our Lord had come with the truth, so are there [now] any intercessors to intercede for us or could we be sent back to do other than we used to do?" They will have lost themselves, and lost from them is what they used to invent.
اِنَّIndeedرَبَّكُمُyour Lordاللّٰهُ(is) Allahالَّذِیْthe One Whoخَلَقَcreatedالسَّمٰوٰتِthe heavensوَ الْاَرْضَand the earthفِیْinسِتَّةِsixاَیَّامٍepochsثُمَّthenاسْتَوٰیHe ascendedعَلَیonالْعَرْشِ ۫the ThroneیُغْشِیHe coversالَّیْلَthe nightالنَّهَارَ(with) the dayیَطْلُبُهٗseeking itحَثِیْثًا ۙrapidlyوَّ الشَّمْسَand the sunوَ الْقَمَرَand the moonوَ النُّجُوْمَand the starsمُسَخَّرٰتٍۭsubjectedبِاَمْرِهٖ ؕby His commandاَلَاUnquestionablyلَهُfor Himالْخَلْقُ(is) the creationوَ الْاَمْرُ ؕand the commandتَبٰرَكَblessedاللّٰهُ(is) AllahرَبُّLordالْعٰلَمِیْنَ (of) the worlds
(7:54) Indeed, your Lord is Allah, who created the heavens and earth in six days and then established Himself above the Throne. He covers the night with the day, [another night] chasing it rapidly; and [He created] the sun, the moon, and the stars, subjected by His command. Unquestionably, His is the creation and the command; blessed is Allah, Lord of the worlds.
اُدْعُوْاCall uponرَبَّكُمْyour Lordتَضَرُّعًاhumblyوَّ خُفْیَةً ؕand privatelyاِنَّهٗIndeed Heلَا(does) notیُحِبُّloveالْمُعْتَدِیْنَۚthe transgressors
(7:55) Call upon your Lord in humility and privately; indeed, He does not like transgressors.
وَ لَاAnd (do) notتُفْسِدُوْاcause corruptionفِیinالْاَرْضِthe earthبَعْدَafterاِصْلَاحِهَاits reformationوَ ادْعُوْهُAnd call Himخَوْفًا(in) fearوَّ طَمَعًا ؕand hopeاِنَّIndeedرَحْمَتَ(the) Mercyاللّٰهِ(of) Allahقَرِیْبٌ(is) nearمِّنَforالْمُحْسِنِیْنَ the good-doers
(7:56) And cause not corruption upon the earth after its reformation. And invoke Him in fear and aspiration. Indeed, the mercy of Allah is near to the doers of good.
وَ هُوَAnd Heالَّذِیْ(is) the One Whoیُرْسِلُsendsالرِّیٰحَthe windsبُشْرًۢا(as) glad tidingsبَیْنَfromیَدَیْbeforeرَحْمَتِهٖ ؕHis Mercyحَتّٰۤیuntilاِذَاۤwhenاَقَلَّتْthey have carriedسَحَابًاcloudsثِقَالًاheavyسُقْنٰهُWe drive themلِبَلَدٍto a landمَّیِّتٍdeadفَاَنْزَلْنَاthen We send downبِهِfrom itالْمَآءَthe waterفَاَخْرَجْنَاthen We bring forthبِهٖfrom itمِنْ(of)كُلِّall (kinds)الثَّمَرٰتِ ؕ(of) fruitsكَذٰلِكَThusنُخْرِجُWe will bring forthالْمَوْتٰیthe deadلَعَلَّكُمْso that you mayتَذَكَّرُوْنَ take heed
(7:57) And it is He who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy until, when they have carried heavy rainclouds, We drive them to a dead land and We send down rain therein and bring forth thereby [some] of all the fruits. Thus will We bring forth the dead; perhaps you may be reminded.
