Surah 28 Al-Qasas, Ayat 55-55
وَاِذَا سَمِعُوا اللَّغۡوَ اَعۡرَضُوۡا عَنۡهُ وَقَالُوۡا لَنَاۤ اَعۡمَالُنَا وَلَـكُمۡ اَعۡمَالُـكُمۡ سَلٰمٌ عَلَيۡكُمۡ لَا نَبۡتَغِى الۡجٰهِلِيۡنَ
﴿28:55﴾
(28:55) and when they hear any vain talk,78 they turn away from
it, saying: "We have our deeds and you have your deeds. Peace be to you. We
do not desire to act like the ignorant."

78. The reference is to the “vain talk” that Abu Jahl and his men had with
the Christians from Habash, as mentioned in (E.N. 72) above.
