اِنَّ Indeed الْمُتَّقِیْنَ the righteous فِیْ (will be) in جَنّٰتٍ Gardens وَّ عُیُوْنٍؕ and water springs اُدْخُلُوْهَا Enter it بِسَلٰمٍ in peace اٰمِنِیْنَ secure وَ نَزَعْنَا And We (will) remove مَا what فِیْ (is) in صُدُوْرِهِمْ their breasts مِّنْ of غِلٍّ rancor اِخْوَانًا (they will be) brothers عَلٰی on سُرُرٍ thrones مُّتَقٰبِلِیْنَ facing each other لَا Not یَمَسُّهُمْ will touch them فِیْهَا therein نَصَبٌ fatigue وَّ مَا and not هُمْ they مِّنْهَا from it بِمُخْرَجِیْنَ will be removed نَبِّئْ Inform عِبَادِیْۤ My slaves اَنِّیْۤ that I اَنَا I am الْغَفُوْرُ the Oft-Forgiving الرَّحِیْمُۙ the Most Merciful وَ اَنَّ And that عَذَابِیْ My punishment هُوَ it الْعَذَابُ (is) the punishment الْاَلِیْمُ the most painful وَ نَبِّئْهُمْ And inform them عَنْ about ضَیْفِ (the) guests اِبْرٰهِیْمَۘ (of) Ibrahim 15. Al-Hijr Page 265 اِذْ When دَخَلُوْا they entered عَلَیْهِ upon him فَقَالُوْا and said سَلٰمًا ؕ Peace قَالَ He said اِنَّا Indeed we مِنْكُمْ (are) of you وَ جِلُوْنَ afraid قَالُوْا They said لَا (Do) not تَوْجَلْ be afraid اِنَّا indeed we نُبَشِّرُكَ [we] bring glad tidings to you بِغُلٰمٍ of a boy عَلِیْمٍ learned قَالَ He said اَبَشَّرْتُمُوْنِیْ Do you give me glad tidings عَلٰۤی Do you give me glad tidings اَنْ although مَّسَّنِیَ has overtaken me الْكِبَرُ old age فَبِمَ Then about what تُبَشِّرُوْنَ you give glad tidings قَالُوْا They said بَشَّرْنٰكَ We give you glad tidings بِالْحَقِّ in truth فَلَا so (do) not تَكُنْ be مِّنَ of الْقٰنِطِیْنَ the despairing قَالَ He said وَ مَنْ And who یَّقْنَطُ despairs مِنْ of رَّحْمَةِ (the) Mercy رَبِّهٖۤ (of) his Lord اِلَّا except الضَّآلُّوْنَ those who are astray قَالَ He said فَمَا Then what خَطْبُكُمْ (is) your business اَیُّهَا O messengers الْمُرْسَلُوْنَ O messengers قَالُوْۤا They said اِنَّاۤ Indeed we اُرْسِلْنَاۤ [we] have been sent اِلٰی to قَوْمٍ a people مُّجْرِمِیْنَۙ criminals اِلَّاۤ Except اٰلَ the family لُوْطٍ ؕ of Lut اِنَّا indeed we لَمُنَجُّوْهُمْ surely will save them اَجْمَعِیْنَۙ all اِلَّا Except امْرَاَتَهٗ his wife قَدَّرْنَاۤ ۙ We have decreed اِنَّهَا that she لَمِنَ (is) surely of الْغٰبِرِیْنَ۠ those who remain behind
(15:45) Surely, the God-fearing will be in gardens and streams
(15:46) “Enter here in peace, free of fear.”
(15:47) We shall have removed whatever grudge they had in their hearts, (thus making them) brothers, sitting on couches, face to face
(15:48) No weariness shall touch them nor will they be expelled from there
(15:49) Tell My servants that I am the Most-Forgiving, the Very-Merciful
(15:50) and that My punishment is the painful punishment
(15:51) and tell them about the guests of Ibrāhīm
(15:52) When they visited him, they greeted him with Salām (peace on you). He said, “We are scared of you.”
(15:53) They said, “Do not be scared. We give you good news of a boy who will be knowledgeable.”
(15:54) He said, “Do you give me the good news despite the old age has befallen me? So what good news you are giving to me?”
(15:55) They said, “We have given to you the good news of a fact. So do not be one of those who lose hope.”
(15:56) He said, “Who can lose hope in the mercy of his Lord except those who have lost the straight path?”
(15:57) He said, “Then, what is your mission, O messengers?”
(15:58) They said, “We have been sent to a sinful people
(15:59) except the family of LūT - all of whom we shall save
(15:60) but his wife. We have ordained that she will be among those who will remain behind.”
According to Sayyidna ` Abdullah ibn ` Abbas ؓ ، when the people of Jannah will enter Jannah, first of all two streams of water will be presented before them. They will drink water from the first stream and all mutual grudges they had from their life in the mortal world - the effect of which naturally survived right through the end - will be totally washed away. In its place, they all will feel love for each other in their hearts because mutual bickering too is virtually a pain and punishment as such, and Jannah is free of all pain.
As for the report appearing in Sahih Hadith: 'Anyone who nurses the least grudge in his heart against a Muslim will not go to Jannah,' it means the grudge and malice which is rooted in material ends, and is there by one's personal intention and choice, and because of which this person keeps looking for an opportunity to inflict pain or loss on his enemy. Being ill at ease in someone's company as a matter of natural temperament, a human trait beyond one's control, is not included here. Similar is the case of what is based on some Islamic legal ground. It is this kind of grudge which has been referred to in this verse and where it has been said that such grudge and temperamental distaste will be removed from their hearts.
It is about this kind of grudge that Sayyidna ` Ali ؓ said: "I hope that I shall be, along with Talha and Zubayr, among those the dust of mutual anxiety from whose hearts will be removed while entering Jannah." The reference here is to the difference of opinion and resulting conflict which took place between Sayyidna Talha and Sayyidna Zubayr and Sayyidna ` Ali ؓ .
As for the third probability, that the blessings of Jannah may remain everlasting, nor one is expelled from there, but one may himself get bored by living there and wish to go out, the Qur' an has demolished this probability in one sentence of Surah Al-Kahf with the following words: لَا يَبْغُونَ عَنْهَا حِوَلًا (That is, these people too would never seek to return from there - 18:108).
