Al-Kafirunبِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِقُلْSayیٰۤاَیُّهَاOالْكٰفِرُوْنَۙdisbelievers لَاۤNotاَعْبُدُI worshipمَاwhatتَعْبُدُوْنَۙyou worship وَ لَاۤAnd notاَنْتُمْyouعٰبِدُوْنَ(are) worshippersمَاۤ(of) whatاَعْبُدُۚI worship وَ لَاۤAnd notاَنَاI amعَابِدٌa worshipperمَّا(of) whatعَبَدْتُّمْۙyou worship وَ لَاۤAnd notاَنْتُمْyou areعٰبِدُوْنَworshippersمَاۤ(of) whatاَعْبُدُؕI worship لَكُمْFor youدِیْنُكُمْ(is) your religionوَ لِیَand for meدِیْنِ۠(is) my religion

Surah Introduction

It is reported that the pagans offered to worship Allah alone for one year, provided that the Prophet ( ﷺ ) worshipped their multiple gods for a year. So this Meccan sûrah was revealed, telling them that he ( ﷺ ) will be dedicated only to the worship of Allah until the last breath of his life, which is the highlight of the next sûrah.

Translation of Verse 1-61. In the Name of Allah-the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful.

1. Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ "O you disbelievers!

2. I do not worship what you worship,

3. nor do you worship what I worship.

4. I will never worship what you worship,

5. nor will you ever worship what I worship.

6. You have your way, and I have my Way."
