Quran Text of Verse 27-31وَ یَقُوْلُAnd sayالَّذِیْنَthose whoكَفَرُوْاdisbelievedلَوْ لَاۤWhy has notاُنْزِلَbeen sent downعَلَیْهِupon himاٰیَةٌa Signمِّنْfromرَّبِّهٖ ؕhis LordقُلْSayاِنَّIndeedاللّٰهَAllahیُضِلُّlets go astrayمَنْwhomیَّشَآءُHe willsوَ یَهْدِیْۤand guidesاِلَیْهِto Himselfمَنْwhoeverاَنَابَۖۚturns back اَلَّذِیْنَThose whoاٰمَنُوْاbelievedوَ تَطْمَىِٕنُّand find satisfactionقُلُوْبُهُمْtheir heartsبِذِكْرِin the remembranceاللّٰهِ ؕ(of) AllahاَلَاNo doubtبِذِكْرِin the remembranceاللّٰهِ(of) Allahتَطْمَىِٕنُّfind satisfactionالْقُلُوْبُؕthe hearts 13. Ar-Ra'd Page 253اَلَّذِیْنَThose whoاٰمَنُوْاbelievedوَ عَمِلُواand didالصّٰلِحٰتِrighteous deedsطُوْبٰیblessednessلَهُمْ(is) for themوَ حُسْنُand a beautifulمَاٰبٍ place of return كَذٰلِكَThusاَرْسَلْنٰكَWe have sent youفِیْۤtoاُمَّةٍa nationقَدْverilyخَلَتْhave passed awayمِنْfromقَبْلِهَاۤbefore itاُمَمٌnationsلِّتَتْلُوَاۡso that you might reciteعَلَیْهِمُto themالَّذِیْۤwhatاَوْحَیْنَاۤWe revealedاِلَیْكَto youوَ هُمْwhile theyیَكْفُرُوْنَdisbelieveبِالرَّحْمٰنِ ؕin the Most GraciousقُلْSayهُوَHeرَبِّیْ(is) my Lordلَاۤ(there is) noاِلٰهَgodاِلَّاexceptهُوَ ۚHimعَلَیْهِUpon HimتَوَكَّلْتُI put my trustوَ اِلَیْهِand to Himمَتَابِ (is) my return وَ لَوْAnd ifاَنَّthat wasقُرْاٰنًاany Quranسُیِّرَتْcould be movedبِهِby itالْجِبَالُthe mountainsاَوْorقُطِّعَتْcould be cloven asunderبِهِby itالْاَرْضُthe earthاَوْorكُلِّمَcould be made to speakبِهِby itالْمَوْتٰی ؕthe deadبَلْNayلِّلّٰهِwith Allahالْاَمْرُ(is) the commandجَمِیْعًا ؕallاَفَلَمْThen do notیَایْـَٔسِknowالَّذِیْنَthose whoاٰمَنُوْۤاbelieveاَنْthatلَّوْifیَشَآءُhad willedاللّٰهُAllahلَهَدَیsurely, He would have guidedالنَّاسَallجَمِیْعًا ؕall of the mankindوَ لَاAnd notیَزَالُwill ceaseالَّذِیْنَthose whoكَفَرُوْاdisbelieveتُصِیْبُهُمْto strike themبِمَاfor whatصَنَعُوْاthey didقَارِعَةٌa disasterاَوْorتَحُلُّit settlesقَرِیْبًاcloseمِّنْfromدَارِهِمْtheir homesحَتّٰیuntilیَاْتِیَcomesوَعْدُ(the) promiseاللّٰهِ ؕ(of) AllahاِنَّIndeedاللّٰهَAllahلَا(will) notیُخْلِفُfailالْمِیْعَادَ۠(in) the Promise

Translation of Verse 27-31

27. The disbelievers say, "If only a sign could be sent down to him from his Lord." ⁴⁷⁴ Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ "Indeed, Allah leaves to stray whoever He wills, and guides to Himself whoever turns to Him-

28. those who believe and whose hearts find comfort in the remembrance of Allah. Surely in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find comfort.

29. Those who believe and do good, for them will be bliss and an honourable destination."

30. And so We have sent you ˹O Prophet˺ to a community, like ˹We did with˺ earlier communities, so that you may recite to them what We have revealed to you. Yet they deny the Most Compassionate. ⁴⁷⁵ Say, "He is my Lord! There is no god ˹worthy of worship˺ except Him. In Him I put my trust, and to Him I turn ˹in repentance˺."

31. If there were a recitation that could cause mountains to move, or the earth to split, or the dead to speak, ˹it would have been this Quran˺. But all matters are by Allah's Will. Have the believers not yet realized that had Allah willed, He could have guided all of humanity? And disasters will continue to afflict the disbelievers or strike close to their homes for their misdeeds, until Allah's promise comes to pass. Surely Allah never fails in His promise.

474. The disbelievers demanded a tangible miracle such as the staff of Moses.
