Quran Text of Verse 101-111وَ لَقَدْAnd certainlyاٰتَیْنَاWe had givenمُوْسٰیMusaتِسْعَnineاٰیٰتٍۭSignsبَیِّنٰتٍclearفَسْـَٔلْso askبَنِیْۤ(the) Children of Israelاِسْرَآءِیْلَ(the) Children of Israelاِذْwhenجَآءَهُمْhe came to themفَقَالَthen saidلَهٗto himفِرْعَوْنُFiraunاِنِّیْIndeed, Iلَاَظُنُّكَ[I] think youیٰمُوْسٰیO Musaمَسْحُوْرًا (you are) bewitched قَالَHe saidلَقَدْVerilyعَلِمْتَyou knowمَاۤnoneاَنْزَلَhas sent downهٰۤؤُلَآءِtheseاِلَّاexceptرَبُّ(the) Lordالسَّمٰوٰتِ(of) the heavensوَ الْاَرْضِand the earthبَصَآىِٕرَ ۚ(as) evidenceوَ اِنِّیْand indeed Iلَاَظُنُّكَ[I] surely think youیٰفِرْعَوْنُO Firaun!مَثْبُوْرًا (you are) destroyed فَاَرَادَSo he intendedاَنْtoیَّسْتَفِزَّهُمْdrive them outمِّنَfromالْاَرْضِthe landفَاَغْرَقْنٰهُbut We drowned himوَ مَنْand whoمَّعَهٗ(were) with himجَمِیْعًاۙall وَّ قُلْنَاAnd We saidمِنْۢafter himبَعْدِهٖafter himلِبَنِیْۤto the Children of Israelاِسْرَآءِیْلَto the Children of IsraelاسْكُنُواDwellالْاَرْضَ(in) the landفَاِذَاthen whenجَآءَcomesوَعْدُ(the) promiseالْاٰخِرَةِ(of) the HereafterجِئْنَاWe will bringبِكُمْyouلَفِیْفًاؕ(as) a mixed crowd 17. Al-Isra Page 293وَ بِالْحَقِّAnd with the truthاَنْزَلْنٰهُWe sent it downوَ بِالْحَقِّand with the truthنَزَلَ ؕit descendedوَ مَاۤAnd notاَرْسَلْنٰكَWe sent youاِلَّاexceptمُبَشِّرًا(as) a bearer of glad tidingsوَّ نَذِیْرًاۘand a warner وَ قُرْاٰنًاAnd the QuranفَرَقْنٰهُWe have dividedلِتَقْرَاَهٗthat you might recite itعَلَیtoالنَّاسِthe peopleعَلٰیatمُكْثٍintervalsوَّ نَزَّلْنٰهُAnd We have revealed itتَنْزِیْلًا (in) stages قُلْSayاٰمِنُوْاBelieveبِهٖۤin itاَوْorلَا(do) notتُؤْمِنُوْا ؕbelieveاِنَّIndeedالَّذِیْنَthose whoاُوْتُواwere givenالْعِلْمَthe knowledgeمِنْbefore itقَبْلِهٖۤbefore itاِذَاwhenیُتْلٰیit is recitedعَلَیْهِمْto themیَخِرُّوْنَthey fallلِلْاَذْقَانِon their facesسُجَّدًاۙ(in) prostration وَّ یَقُوْلُوْنَAnd they sayسُبْحٰنَGlory be toرَبِّنَاۤour Lord!اِنْIndeedكَانَisوَعْدُ(the) promiseرَبِّنَا(of) our Lordلَمَفْعُوْلًا surely fulfilled وَ یَخِرُّوْنَAnd they fallلِلْاَذْقَانِon their facesیَبْكُوْنَweepingوَ یَزِیْدُهُمْand it increases themخُشُوْعًا۩(in) humility قُلِSayادْعُواInvokeاللّٰهَAllahاَوِorادْعُواinvokeالرَّحْمٰنَ ؕthe Most GraciousاَیًّاBy whatever (name)مَّاBy whatever (name)تَدْعُوْاyou invokeفَلَهُto Him (belongs)الْاَسْمَآءُthe Most Beautiful Namesالْحُسْنٰی ۚthe Most Beautiful Namesوَ لَاAnd (do) notتَجْهَرْbe loudبِصَلَاتِكَin your prayersوَ لَاand notتُخَافِتْbe silentبِهَاthereinوَ ابْتَغِbut seekبَیْنَbetweenذٰلِكَthatسَبِیْلًا a way وَ قُلِAnd sayالْحَمْدُAll Praiseلِلّٰهِ(is) for Allahالَّذِیْthe One Whoلَمْhas not takenیَتَّخِذْhas not takenوَلَدًاa sonوَّ لَمْand notیَكُنْisلَّهٗfor Himشَرِیْكٌa partnerفِیinالْمُلْكِthe dominionوَ لَمْand notیَكُنْisلَّهٗfor Himوَلِیٌّany protectorمِّنَout ofالذُّلِّweaknessوَ كَبِّرْهُAnd magnify Himتَكْبِیْرًا۠(with all) magnificence

Translation of Verse 101-111

101. We surely gave Moses nine clear signs. ⁵³⁷ ˹You, O Prophet, can˺ ask the Children of Israel. When Moses came to them, Pharaoh said to him, "I really think that you, O Moses, are bewitched."

102. Moses replied, "You know well that none has sent these ˹signs˺ down except the Lord of the heavens and the earth as insights. And I really think that you, O Pharaoh, are doomed."

103. So Pharaoh wanted to scare the Israelites out of the land ˹of Egypt˺, but We drowned him and all of those with him.

104. And We said to the Children of Israel after Pharaoh, "Reside in the land, but when the promise of the Hereafter comes to pass, ⁵³⁸ We will bring you all together."

105. We have sent down the Quran in truth, and with the truth it has come down. We have sent you ˹O Prophet˺ only as a deliverer of good news and a warner.

106. ˹It is˺ a Quran We have revealed in stages so that you may recite it to people at a deliberate pace. And We have sent it down in successive revelations.

107. Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ "Believe in this ˹Quran˺, or do not. Indeed, when it is recited to those who were gifted with knowledge ⁵³⁹ before it ˹was revealed˺, they fall upon their faces in prostration,

108. and say, 'Glory be to our Lord! Surely the promise of our Lord has been fulfilled.'

109. And they fall down upon their faces weeping, and it increases them in humility."

110. Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ "Call upon Allah or call upon the Most Compassionate-whichever you call, He has the Most Beautiful Names." Do not recite your prayers too loudly or silently, but seek a way between.

111. And say, "All praise is for Allah, Who has never had ˹any˺ offspring; ⁵⁴⁰ nor does He have a partner in ˹governing˺ the kingdom; ⁵⁴¹ nor is He pathetic, needing a protector. ⁵⁴² And revere Him immensely."

Commentary

537. The nine signs of Moses are: the staff, the hand (both mentioned in 20:17-22), famine, shortage of crops, floods, locusts, lice, frogs, and blood (all mentioned in 7:130-133). These signs came as proofs for Pharaoh and the Egyptians. Otherwise, Moses had some other signs such water gushing out of the rock after he hit it with his staff, and splitting the sea.

538. This may also refer to the second warning in 17:7.

539. i.e., the faithful among the scholars of the Torah and the Gospel.

540. i.e., Jesus, Ezra, or the angels.

541. i.e., another god equal to Him.

542. i.e., the idols.
